It’s been 100 years since the Russian Revolution and over 113 since the Trans-Siberian railway opened, stretching almost 10,000 km from Moscow to Vladivostok. In their documentary, filmmakers use the train to share everyday stories from modern Russian life, focusing on the personal experiences of the people they meet in the harsh Siberian winter. “The Sleeping Land” is a tribute to daily routines and the unique challenges of those living in this remote region, all while the frozen landscape waits for spring.
