The Horticultural Research Station USAMV Cluj-Napoca, also known as the Palocsay Orchard, will become the setting for a special evening featuring a local producers' market, dishes cooked by Chef Adi Hădean, and the screening of a classic French comedy with Louis de Funès: Wing or Thigh? (L'Aile ou la cuisse, dir. Claude Zidi, 1976, 105').
The evening opens with a local producers' market, where visitors can discover and buy authentic regional products directly from the source.
The slow food spirit takes shape in a talk with Chef Adi Hădean and his guests, who will try to answer the question: what does "local flavour" still mean today?
This is followed by dinner cooked by Chef Adi Hădean and the Transylvanian Gastronomic Club — a classic French dish: Steak frites & Café de Paris Sauce
The evening closes with the screening of Wing or Thigh? (L'Aile ou la cuisse, dir. Claude Zidi, France, 1976), a classic comedy long enshrined in the canon of French cinema. The film stars Louis de Funès, Coluche, and Julien Guiomar, with a score by Vladimir Cosma, a composer born in Bucharest who built an impressive career in Paris. Louis de Funès plays Charles Duchemin, director of a world-renowned food guide, who makes a habit of visiting French restaurants incognito. A fierce defender of traditional cuisine, Duchemin must take on a formidable adversary: Jacques Tricatel, champion of industrialised food and fast food.
