Filmul KREATOR - HATE & HOPE spune pentru prima dată istoria de patruzeci de ani a celebrei trupe metal, de la înființarea lor ca trupă școlară în 1982 în zona Ruhr până la marile scene internaționale ale turneului lor mondial actual. Atunci ca și acum, ei se opun urii și abisurilor societății noastre. Tonuri stridente, riff-uri virtuoase de chitară și ritmuri energice de tobe procesează tulburările din civilizația noastră cu o voință și o creativitate extraordinare. Între citate ale Hannei Arendt și cadavre fără cap, apare o poezie a haosului bine lucrată, plină de simboluri ale groazei - un cocktail muzical Molotov împotriva răului, cu un efect cathartic.

Pentru noul său documentar, regizoarea Cordula Kablitz-Post (Die Toten Hosen - You only live once”) pleacă în turneu timp de un an cu legendara trupă thrash metal din Ruhr: la Wacken Open Air, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangalore, Los Angeles și, în final, la „Klash of the Ruhrpott” din Gelsenkirchen, unde se adună marii artiști metal din Germania.

Cu înregistrări private de arhivă și interviuri interesante (Scott Ian/ Anthrax, Chuck Billy / Testament, Bela B./ Die Ärzte, chitaristul Phil Demmel/ fost Machine Head, Maik Weichert/ Heaven Shall Burn, Nergal/ Behemoth, Lars Eidinger, Andy Sneap), ei pornesc într-o călătorie foarte sinceră și plină de umor în inima vibrantă a istoriei muzicii germane.

The film KREATOR – HATE & HOPE tells the forty-year history of the celebrated metal band for the first time, from their founding as a school band in 1982 in the Ruhr area to the grand international stages of their current world tour. Then as now, they stand against the hatred and the abysses of our society. Shrill tones, virtuosic guitar riffs, and energetic drumbeats process the turmoil in our civilization with tremendous willpower and creativity. Between Hannah Arendt quotes and headless corpses, emerges a well-crafted poetry of chaos full of symbols of horror – a musical Molotov cocktail against evil with a cathartic effect.

For her new documentary, director Cordula Kablitz-Post (“Die Toten Hosen - You only live once”) goes on tour with the legendary thrash metal band from the “Ruhrpott” for a year: Wacken Open Air, Tokyo, Osaka, Bangalore, Los Angeles and finally “Klash of the Ruhrpott” in Gelsenkirchen, where Germany’s metal greats gather.
