În pofida faptului că provin din background-uri diferite, Andrej "Tschick" Tschichatschow și Maik Klingenberg, ambii de 14 ani, se împrietenesc având în comun rolul de outsider și sentimentul dureros de plictiseală. Tschick provine dintr-o familie de ruși repatriați, pe când Malik vine dintr-o familie bună dar suferă de pe urma alcoolismului mamei sale. Cu o mașină pe care o fură, cei doi pleacă într-o călătorie ce le va schimba viața.

Despite having very different social backgrounds, fourteen year boys Andrej "Tschick" Tschichatschow and Maik Klingenberg come together through their common role as outsiders and the painful feeling of boredom. Tschick is the son of Russian repatriates while Maik comes from a good family, but suffers from the alcoholism of his mother. With a rickety stolen car, the two youths embark on a new journey that will change their lives.

They are light hearted films that get us back in touch with our own teenage days and help us understand the minds and emotions of kids in general that tend to fade away as we turn adults.
