Wendy are 12 ani şi este o călăreaţă neîntrecută, dar, după un oribil accident petrecut cu doi ani în urmă, refuză să se mai urce pe cal. Când întâmplarea i-o scoate în cale pe Dixie, o iapă trimisă la abator, Wendy decide să o salveze. Este acesta începutul unei profunde prietenii?

12-year-old Wendy used to be a successful horserider, but after a horrible accident two years ago she now refuses to ride. When she meets Dixie, a horse supposed to end up at the butcher, she must save the poor creature. Is this the start of a deep friendship?
