Synopsis:
Springtime in Brooklyn. Nick (Beastie Boys’ Adam Horovitz) is cataloguing his deceased father-in-law’s inheritance at the irascible request of his wife Alyssa (Chloë Sevigny) and her sister Gwen (Mary Louise Parker). Across the neighbourhood, Buddy (Jason Schwartzman) runs a recording studio with his wife Jess. These couples’ lives become interconnected with the arrival of nubile Naomi (Emily Browning), a childhood friend of Buddy who takes an internship to assist Nick with the archiving. Her presence sparks feelings of attraction in the two men, while their partners grow uneasy, jealous. In his kaleidoscope of relations, Alex Ross Perry paints whispered portraits of dissatisfaction looking for renewal.
