Don’t Fuss!

Spectacolul cercetează elementele unei relații, concentrându-se asupra isteriei și a consecințelor ei. Piesa de dans conectează ritmul tobelor cu umorul „ascuns” în viața de zi cu zi a unui cuplu — un umor care poate fi observat mai ales de cei din exterior. Iar spectatorii stau, privesc și râd. De noi. Și, în același timp, de ei înșiși.

Și totuși, există o permanentă punere sub semnul întrebării a acestor dependențe și încercări de a rupe legătura. Cât de departe poate merge un dansator cu un set de tobe fără muzician? Cât de departe poate merge toboșarul fără mișcare? Pentru acest spectacol, Rita Gobi a primit premiul pentru Cea Mai Bună Dansatoare Contemporană din Ungaria la Budapesta, precum și premiul pentru Cel Mai Bun Dansator Solo la Soloduo Festival, Germania, în 2015.

Don’t Fuss!

The performance is researching the elements of a relationship focusing on hysteria and the aftermath. The dance piece is connecting the rhythm of the drums and the humor that is ‘hidden’ in a couple's daily life, but this can be observed by and outsider. And the outsiders are sitting and watching and laughing. On us. And at themselves, too.

'Don't Fuss' [ ...] displays structured madness full of nuances. It is a choreography that stays with and transcends the materiality of the body. ‘The drummer needs the instrument to make the sound; the drum needs the drummer’s rhythmical movements to create it; the dancer needs the music, and by association, the musician; the musician needs the dancer to embody, to live the rhythm, to bring it further. Yet, there is a constant questioning of these dependencies, and attempts to break the bond. How far can a dancer go with a bunch of drums without the musician? For this performance Rita Gobi received the Best Hungarian Contemporary Dancer Award in Budapest, Best Solo Dancer Award at SoloDuo Festival in Cologne, Germany in 2015
