If eighteenth-century spiritualism took shape as opposition to the belief in the newly emerged techno-scientific progress seen as the only possible form of saving the world, now, with the exhaustion of certain beliefs in technological progress, we will attempt a reverse movement of relocating agency, in which we will inspire precisely technology. Spirit, any spirit, will take hold of the technological, and the cables of the stage that have hitherto sat hidden in the dark, hidden from view, but serving the magic of the stage from there, will move from the invisible to the visible spectrum and become from the technological medium, Medium. And Andreea David, using my performative skills and qualities, will see and foresee through the wires, beyond what is presented and represented, in a reading of a quintessentially invisible score of destiny.

The daytime performances are one-to-one. For the one-to-one sessions, I will read each person's personal destiny and give the answer to a troubling question. The evenings (19-20h) will be devoted to group readings and their destiny. They will be aimed at groups already formed that have a common bond, cause, or ideal (musical groups, more or less extended families, communities, theatre groups, action or activist groups, employees of an institution, members of an association, organization, foundation or party, a high school or college group, or a simple group of friends).

The readings can be done alternatively in Romanian or English.

”Having been trained in architecture, I am fascinated by the architecture of the stage space, its materiality, and content, in contrast to what it represents - an abstract, conceptual place, a ground zero of stage convention. Of all the basic scenic elements in dance (carpet, curtain or light scaffolding), lately, cables have caught my attention. Not only do they have black non-colouring, they are also hidden from view. Contrary to their technological function, to connect situations, they hide from the prying eye behind curtains or under carpets and remain invisible. By total camouflage, they exist only by virtue of their function. What fascinates me most about them is that they produce magic. Press a button and a light comes on in the distance. In this sense the cables act as a medium and their state is similar to that of the performer. Hence the desire to explore the idea of the performer and the cables as a medium in a practice of divination. In the loops of the cables, in their curves and lines, I will read the "future" of those who desire/does. Through a tossing/stretching of them by the person who will want a reading, the shape of the answer to a question or its "future"/"destiny" will be revealed.” (A.D.)

Andreea David is a choreographer, dancer and former architect. Her interest in practices of so-called divination, manifested through performance, began in 2017 with the work Latent Show (an anagram of talent), developed with Cristian Nanculescu-Nanci. There, the performance, the performer or any form of receptive presence became a medium for what was about to happen; for something, undeniably beyond their sphere of control, but potentially taking shape through their “scenic/performative talent”. Her works and collaborations have been presented at ccn Montpellier, Blackbox Theater Oslo, HAU2 Berlin, festival del Silencio Milano, l’abri Geneva, Temp d’image and Reactor Cluj, Teatru Fix Iasi, Seoul, Bucharest etc. Currently, Andreea is active in the action group Here was a forest / Here could be a forest, whose mission is to defend and save the 12 ha of land illegally reclaimed from the IOR park and subjected to repeated poisonings and fires.

At this moment, we do not have any future performances scheduled.
