Dar Disku [BH/UK], Romansoff, Dragoș Rusu, Cliza & Bogman 18+

A night of well-travelled records, unexpected connections and dancefloor meetings, moving between the familiar and the strange, and maintaining rhythm as a shared language. From the kaleidoscopic sounds of Dar Disku to Bucharest’s deep-rooted underground and more exploratory terrains, this Friday night unites different ways of listening, digging and making a room groove. 

BERLIN ROOM

DAR DISKU [BH/UK]

Dar Disku is the Bahrain-born label and DJ duo of Mazen AlMaskati and Vish Mhatre, digging deep into the stranger corners of Arab music and beyond. Their sets move freely between Khaliji hiNRG, rai, ArabiDisco, Habibi House, sawt, Bollywood, new beat and leftfield electronics, stitching forgotten records into spontaneous dancefloor journeys. Raised less than a mile apart, the pair bonded over obscure records, mixtapes and a shared curiosity for the music surrounding them. Since founding Dar Disku in 2019, they have played across Europe, Asia and the Middle East, while releases on their own label have earned support from DJ Seinfeld, Hunee, Palms Trax and Esa, among others.

ROMANSOFF

Tudor Gheorghe has spent over a decade shaping his sound within Bucharest’s underground, where small, independent parties first sparked a lasting commitment to vinyl. His own imprint, Raw Tools, launched in 2013, opening the door to releases on Mork, Creme Organization, Sportiv and Solar Phenomena. He champions a sound that is both versatile and deeply rooted in warmth. His sets are a creative, crate-digging affair, showcasing a vast musical background and a dedication to the community.

DRAGOȘ RUSU

Dragoș Rusu maps the outer edges of electronic possibilities with the focus of an anthropologist, tracing connections between field recordings, ethnographic fragments and the outer reaches of electronic music. His selections move between ancestral textures and futuristic frequencies, finding strange points of contact between sounds that might otherwise remain worlds apart. Curious, exploratory and quietly mind-bending, his sets invite a different kind of dancefloor attention, where the sense of curiosity matters.

CLIZA

Working through a record collection without much concern for genre or chronology, Cliza brings global grooves into contact with funk, electronic heat, alternative sounds and punk energy. There's a thread of retro nostalgia running through the mix, but never as an exercise in looking back. Expect instinctive selections, unexpected collisions and a little primal electricity.

BOGMAN

Bogman has been part of Bucharest’s underground fabric since the 90s, carrying a steady thread through house and disco in a way that feels like he’s a living archive of sound. Revered by those who know the city’s history, he remains refreshingly free of pretence, driven by a genuine love of records and the people dancing to them. 

DRAGOȘ RUSU

Expect Dragoș Rusu to be omniscient and omnipresent this night, as he’ll be hopping between rooms and booths. This can only mean one thing: expect a dizzyingly trippy hell of a night.
