There's so much in store this February as stuff of legends touch Control ground. Rave icon Rex The Dog graces Room 1 with his trademark live set on February 28, joined by the vanguard of the dark disco movement, the Berlin-based Local Suicide. Local support comes from our resident Walentin Pauer, along with Mitici & Călin in Room 2.

REX THE DOG [UK] [LIVE]

Rex The Dog favours an analogue approach to everything. Musician and visual artist Jake Williams takes a pencil and paper approach to his drawings, just as much as he enjoys a hands-on approach to his music.

A rave icon in the late 90s under the name of JX, he has released some of the most celebrated dancefloor bangers of the era. Throughout a long career since his rise to stardom, his sound morphed into something both old and new, featuring the well-beloved 80s analogue robotic sounds. Carrying his precious self-built Modular Synthesiser around the world, his idiosyncratic beats have been gathering big crowds at the best clubs, festivals and parties: from Berlin’s Panorama Bar to Barcelona’s Nitsa, Brooklyn’s Good Room, and beyond.

His name is almost synonymous with labels Kompakt and Kitsuné, perhaps, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Far from being a solely musical venture, Rex The Dog is a visual project. A hand drawn Rex character has been accompanying the musician since his first record release, and even became the first cartoon dog to be interviewed on BBC Radio 1.

From their fateful meeting in 2008, Berlin-based duo Local Suicide – Munich's Brax Moody and Thessaloniki's Vamparela – have blazed a trail through electronic music with their signature "technodisco" sound. Blending new wave, EBM, post-disco, and dark techno, they've dominated global stages from Lollapalooza to Melt!, even opening for New Order. Their chart-topping releases and new label Iptamenos Discos cement their status as pioneers of the dark disco movement.

Like a sonic alchemist, Walentin Pauer transforms the Control Club into his personal laboratory, where frequencies turn into rhythms and dancefloor grooves. His productions don't just push boundaries—they dissolve them entirely, creating a space where sound and sight move in perfect synergy, challenging conventional perceptions of electronic music.
