Alt Jazz is a live series mapping the space where jazz intersects with soul, hip-hop, and electronic music. A fluid, forward-facing platform, it centers artists who treat jazz as a language in motion of its own.

Unfolding in partnership with Black Rhino Radio, the session on Monday, March 3 features UK rising voice Summer Pearl — an artist known for her care-free live performances and direct, unfiltered lyricism.

Summer’s breakthrough arrived with her early independent releases, culminating in her third project outmysystem (2023), a refined statement blending jazz sensibility with contemporary soul. With four projects to date, she has steadily shaped a sound that is both intimate and expansive.

In 2022, she was personally invited to perform at Montreux Jazz Festival, where she was described as part of the “evolution of jazz." Since then she’s sold-out headline shows in Switzerland, appeared at Cully Jazz Festival and London Jazz Festival, collaborated with Liam Bailey, LEVI and Kaidi Tatham, and toured across South Korea and Australia, and appeared on stages from SXSW to Ronnie Scott’s.

Her latest EP, THE INTERLUDE, signals a new chapter, expanding her sonic palette while staying rooted in truth. “This project is about the in-between moments,” she says. “It’s me stepping into who I’m becoming.”
