ALT JAZZ presents DJ Babu & Rakaa

We created Alt Jazz in such a way that it reflects the blueprint of jazz and the influence it spawns across the genres. On November 16, we walk this path and invite two of the hip-hop’s respected names, DJ Babu and Rakaa (of Dilated Peoples), to perform in the Berlin Room of Control Club.

In a perfect balance between the turntables and the microphone, they bring a distinctive energy to the series, broadening the pattern and exploring how sampling, creativity, and innovation take bits and parts of jazz instruments and rearrange them into a layout suited to hip-hop.

From Rakaa’s storytelling rhymes to DJ Babu’s craft as a master turntablist, their Expansion Team sound builds on a concrete foundation.
