Bucharest Photofest, reaching its 8th edition, is a platform-festival intended to acquaint the public with some of the most important, most up-to-date and most relevant photography landmarks, both local and international.

• THE SELECTION OF THE FILM SCREENINGS OF THE CURRENT EDITION INCLUDES AROUND 10 FILMS AND SOME OF THE FILM SCREENINGS ARE FOLLOWING BY Q/A SESSIONS WITH DIRECTORS AND SPECIAL GUESTS.

• THE 2023 EDITION MEANS MORE THAN 50 EVENTS: EXHIBITIONS, FILM SCREENINGS, PHOTO WALKS & WORKSHOPS, TALKS & DEBATES, ARTIST TALKS, PORTFOLIO REVIEWS & EDUCATIONAL EVENTS, AND, MORE, THE BUCHAREST PHOTOFEST CONFERENCE

• THE 8TH EDITION BRINGS TOGETHER MORE THAN 150 LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS (PHOTOGRAPHERS, FILM MAKERS, DIRECTORS, WRITERS, STORYTELLERS) AND SHOWS THEIR WORKS AND PROJECTS IN EXHIBITIONS, FILM SCREENINGS, DEBATES AND TALKS, SHOWCASES, PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOPS, OR LIVE MUSIC CONCERTS.

Not only is it a cultural project put forward in the form of a coherently concept, but also it uses photography as an occasion to question some essential sociopolitical and cultural present-day matters, therefore making photography a means of visual learning.

Bucharest Photofest is a project that showcases the power of photography to capture and connect individual and collective stories. The festival aims to elevate the standards of photography events and festivals around the world, as well as to establish a professional and artistic benchmark in the current Romanian art scene.
