Acclaimed avant-garde jazz trio The Necks, one of the great cult bands of Australia, returns to Bucharest for a one of a kind show, not to be missed – Friday, November 7 at Control Club.

Known for their improvisational work, Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass) conjure a chemistry together that defies description in traditional terms.

Featuring lengthy pieces which slowly unravel in the most mesmerising fashion, frequently underpinned by an insistent deep groove, The Necks’ rich body of work stands up to re-listening time and time again. Their double LP Unfold was named by Rolling Stone as "one of the top 20 avant albums of 2017."

Their latest release, Bleed, is out now via Northern Spy.

The deceptive simplicity of their music throws forth new charms on each hearing. Not entirely avant-garde, nor minimalist, nor ambient, nor jazz, the music of The Necks is possibly unique in the world today.
