On Friday, September 18, PA!SA!KA! descends on the Berlin Room, gathering a constellation of Baltic futurists for a night of queer catharsis, and sonic chemistry. Moving between live electronics, disco, post-punk, hypnotic club music and the stranger edges of pop, this dancefloor belongs to the beautiful misfits.

BERLIN ROOM

ELIZABETE BALČUS [LV] feat. K NOT K [LIVE]

Elizabete Balčus opens the night with a meeting of surrealist dream pop, looping her voice while wiring vegetables into synthesizers, supported by K not K’s chess-inspired electro psychedelia. 

Balčus studied classical and jazz flute and opera, then turned those disciplines into a wonderfully unruly performance. The Quietus calls her transportive, Gigwise dubs her a visionary art terrorist.

K not K pair 80s electronics with Eastern European and oriental influences in a live show that has travelled from clubs to museums and festivals across Europe and beyond. 

KATYA KÓV [LT/DE]

A longtime Renate resident, curator and founder of Tiergarten in Berlin, Katya spins soulful house, disco, romantic electronica and sly funk, through a lens shaped by an ongoing Berlin/Vilnius cultural meeting ground.

MONIKA SETA [LT]

Monika Seta bridges old-school influences with forward-thinking club aesthetics, moving through progressive house, new beat, freestyle, rare disco, tribal rhythms and cosmic electronics, drawing on years at her Opium residency and False Nostalgia radio show. As DJ Secretory, she goes darker, faster, stronger.

MOTERIS [LT] 

Moteris brings intense, sensual tensegrity, threading hypnotic house and EDM through high impact grooves. With the woman (her name literally translates as such) as the heartbeat, her sets center feminine energy as the force guiding bodies, rhythm, and space.

Corina Sucarov & Sheina hold up the dark flag up high in the Front Room, with post-punk bite and goth ache, sprinkled with a restless dark disco beat and a hypnotic oriental thread.
