This Friday, July 31, there’s techno in the Berlin Room, with two of the most interesting local artists sharing their take on late night hypnosis, dark synths and futuristic dreams. There’s disco, boogie and funk keeping the floor locked in the Front Room too, so get ready to feel loose and swing it till the last call.

JIJIAN

Jijian has shaped Bucharest's techno underground for over two decades. His sets lean into ambient textures, long synth lines and harmonic depths, channeling a soft spot for the 70s that feels both nostalgic and forward-looking. A fixture at Control, he remains one of Romania's steadiest hands on the decks.

UTOPUS

Utopus presents as a shadowy heretic, a reputation he earned through years tied to his Future Nuggets and P Balans imprints. Sampling is his craft, which plays out in unexpected, hypnotic ways. Expect time-bending loops, and a trance-like tension pulling the room under, seasoned with a Balkan feel.

Phil Cocks and Meelouna have played together for over nine years, bonded by disco, boogie, funk, soul, R&B, house and a love for the sea. Regulars at Control since their very beginning, the duo are also known for their Ankle Breaker Show radio explorations of a very laid back and carefree way of life (and sound).
