ctrl LIVE: Bad Decisions & ShellShock

On Tuesday, October 6, two different sides of punk meet at Control, with Bad Decisions and ShellShock taking the stage for separate live sets.

Bad Decisions are a local post-kraut-weirdo-punk band made up of members of The Nuggers, Mes Quins, The Amsterdams and Cardinal. With a record already out on Voodoo Rhythm Records, the band are now getting ready to head back into the studio and record their sophomore album this fall. Expect kraut repetition, punk instincts and enough weirdness to keep things slightly off-centre.

Then there’s Shellshock, a young surf punk band straight outta Brăila, causing a proper ruckus since forming in February 2025. Their recipe is pretty specific: ’90s East Bay punk meets SpongeBob soundtracks, powered by fast riffs, driving lyrics and the kind of energy that makes standing still feel a little pointless.

Earlier this year, they released their first EP, Demoz, via Punk Valley Records, a loud introduction to a band that clearly has its own idea of what surf punk can sound like.

Two bands, two live sets, plenty of noise.

* Children up to 12 years old do not have access to the event.
** Children up to 16 years old need a valid ticket and must be accompanied by a parent with a valid ticket.
*** Minors aged 16 to 18 years old have access with a valid ticket.
**** Serving and alcohol consumption are strictly forbidden for all minors.
