The Speakers LIVE. Ending evening of Bucharest Photofest 2026

Ten days of looking closely, and one last night to look back. Join us for the closing evening of Bucharest Photofest 2026, with The Speakers (RO) live at Control Club, and send the WITNESS edition off in style.

The Speakers take cues from Eastern European modernism, retro cinema and fashion. Their music carries the emotional language of the '80s into songs about resilience, identity and modern anxieties. Every composition begins as an image, with places becoming the emotional architecture of the music.

Formed as an indie Brit-rock band, they helped pioneer Romania's synth-pop and electro-rock scene. A new lineup and creative direction led to Cinematic Shadow Prophecies (2025), their third studio album Live, a low, enveloping voice and assured stagecraft put frontman Vicențiu Oktavianus at the centre. His background in fashion informs his physical approach to performance, while architectural imagery extends the band's aesthetic into the live setting.
