→ Amplified by Riddim Bandits Sound System

+ More to be announced

Continuing October’s series of heavy-weight bookings, Black Rhino Radio moves yet again to Control Club for two names whose reputation precedes them.

Founder of the legendary Hard Wax record store and the creative force behind Basic Channel, Maurizio and Rhythm & Sound, Mark Ernestus’ influence on electronic music runs deep. His work moves between creating, releasing and presenting music; co-designing innovative tools like the Zaehl AM1; shaping spaces such as Open Ground; and touring worldwide with Ndagga Rhythm Force. As a DJ, Mark's sets lean into Jamaican and African music, exploring sounds that reach far beyond the usual club landscape.

AI Wootton has been a key figure of the UK underground music scene since the late 2000s. His earliest records as Deadboy helped shape the sound and direction of both the underground and the overground in the post-dubstep era leading to critical acclaim and worldwide tours. In 2019 he retired the Deadboy moniker to go under his own name. Stylistically he moved towards producing more minimal, dub influenced leftfield techno records and psychedelic percussion tracks on his own labels Trule and Amidah and on labels such as Sahko, Optimo Trax, Livity Sound and Berceuse Heroique.

Join us in celebrating the 29th Black Rhino Residency at Control on the 17th of October, amplified by none other than the Riddim Bandits Sound System.
