ARTHUR KELL QUARTET (NYC)

Arthur Kell (bassist, composer) is one of the most original voices on today's New York jazz scene. For the past twenty-five years, he has played with an amazing cross-section of the most influential contemporary jazz musicians in New York City and around the world.

As part of his cd/lp release tour, together with Brad Shepik and Nate Radley (guitars), myself (bass) and Allan Mednard (drums), Arthur will be present on JazzBook's stage, for a one of a kind performance.

Arthur Kell has worked with Thomas Chapin, Matt Darriau, Kálmán Oláh, Guillermo Klein, Steve Cardenas, Paul Bollenback, Valerie June and Bill McHenry. Brad Shepik has worked with Paul Motian, Dave Douglas, Joey Baron and Charlie Haden. Nate Radley has worked for Chris Cheek, Adam Nussbaum, the Maria Schneider Jazz Orchestra and Aruan Ortiz. Allan Mednard (drums) has performed with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Aaron Parks, Lauren Henderson and Ben Allison.

"Everything that modern jazz should be: vibrant, challenging music from a band so tight within its group dynamic and so confident in its individualistic chops that every movement is a lively step forward. The recording retains all the energy of a kick-ass live event and should receive serious album-of-the-year consideration." - Jazz Improv Magazine

"...a group stupendously united, solid and modern with sublime melodic qualities and a rhythmic confidence and inventiveness." - Javier Aspiazu, GARA, Spain

At this moment, we do not have any future performances scheduled.
