10 Years of MidWeek Tapes with Iulian Morar

A decade of Wednesdays adds up to a lot of music. On October 7, MidWeek Tapes - one of Control’s longest-running series - turns ten, just days after the club’s 18th.

Iulian Morar, who created the series and heads Liveland, curates the special edition across both rooms.

In the Berlin Room, Raz Ohara premieres a groovy hybrid live set, with live percussion from Philipp Kullen. His warm, vulnerable voice sits over sparse electronic arrangements and acoustic detail, leaving room for silence and imperfection. Kullen’s percussion gives this version of the material a firmer rhythmic centre.

Often described as a sonic alchemist, Ohara’s artistic presence extends beyond solo releases into numerous collaborations and ensemble projects, such as The Odd Orchestra and Feathered Sun, where electronic and acoustic textures intertwine seamlessly.

In the same room, Pilocka Krach treats the stage as both concert and theatre. The Berlin artist emerged from Vienna’s noise avant-garde and joined an artist residency with Underground Resistance in Detroit in 2015. She also co-founded the theatrical concert show Mafia Klvb and served as musical director for Nis Søgaard’s Glamour Mountain. Her third album, FAUST III, brings the Faust myth into the present through nine songs and nine films

The Front Room hosts SwordS Focus, a spoken-word moment part of SWORDS - a series created and curated by Cosmin Perțan and Iulian Morar. The main project brings literature into a live setting through spoken word, music and multimedia projections.

DJ sets throughout the night come from Iulian Morar, Electrons in Slow Motion, Duke, Călin, Nek and Walentin Pauer.
