Un omagiu, in cheie tandru-parodica, adus filmelor inspirate de celebrul roman Frankenstein al lui Mary Shelley.
Un tanar neurochirurg, Frederik Frankestein (Gene Wilder), mosteneste castelul bunicului sau, faimosul doctor Victor von Frankenstein. In castel el ii intalneste pe haiosul cocosat Igor, pe frumoasa asistenta Inga, si pe batrana servioare, Frau Blucher. Tanarul Frankenstein crede ca munca bunicului sau nu e buna de nimic, dar atunci cand ii citeste jurnalul, unde era descris un experiment de reanimare, isi schimba parerea. Asistat de Igor si de Inga, Frederik reanimeaza un cadavru, care scapa si creeaza panica in oras.
