Un portret al legendei rock Neil Young, prin intermediul unor fragmente din concerte live și monologuri ale artistului despre diverse subiecte, de la războiul din Vietnam, la poluarea mediului înconjurător.

Mânat de harul său poetic, canadianul Neil Young se stabilește la Los Angeles, capitala industriei muzicale și viitor paradis hippie, la finalul anilor 1960. Alături de Buffalo Springfield și apoi de Crosby, Stills and Nash, el protestează împotriva războiului din Vietnam, înainte de a începe o carieră solo. Se retrage la "Broken Arrow", ferma sa din California unde înregistrează albumul cu același nume, lansat în 1996. Organizează evenimente caritabile în sprijinul fermierilor, victime ale capitalismului, sau în ajutorul copiilor cu handicap mintal. Compunând muzică de protest pentru angoase succesive, cum ar fi războiul din Irak sau organismele modificate genetic, Neil Young dă frâu liber înclinației sale spre experiment, spre „a face lucrurile altfel”.

A portrait of Neil Young throughout some clips of gigs and speeches of his own, sometimes talking about Vietnam, or even pollution due to oil shale… This film is a tribute to this huge celebrity of rock music, who transformed rage of living in an overwhelming creation.

Guided by his poetic pen, the Canadian Neil Young stops in Los Angeles, capital of the music industry and future hippie paradise at the end of the 1960s. With the bands Buffalo Springfield and then Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, he protested against the conflict in Vietnam, before going solo. Retired to "Broken Arrow", his Californian ranch where he recorded his album of the same name released in 1996, the sensitive colossus organized charity events to support farmers sacrificed on the altar of capitalism or to improve the care of mentally handicapped children. While composing protest albums in the course of his successive angers, from the war in Iraq to Monsanto's GMOs, Neil Young gives free rein to his taste for experimentation "to make a difference in another way".
