Atenție: Locuitori ai râului! este un duet creat de Alexandra Mihaela Dancs și Urvi Vora în dialog cu contururile orașului având ca peisaj Casa Tranzit. Ele se mișcă alături de ora la care soarele apune, răspunzând la culorile schimbătoare ale râului pentru a crea momente care dau naștere la întrebări despre pierdere, moarte și eventuală transformare.

Vino cu căști și un smartphone care are Zoom instalat.

Alexandra Mihaela Dancs activează în dans contemporan și arte performative din 2004. Dansează în creații semnate de Vava Ștefănescu, Rui Catalao, Doris Uhlich și Florin Fieroiu. Realizează proiecte solo și co-creează performance-uri împreună cu Carmen Coțofană, Andreea David, Mădălina Dan, Urvi Vora, Cosmin Manolescu.

Ghidează cursuri și ateliere din 2009 și concepe Totul pentru Endorfine în 2016. Din 2019 cântă și dansează cu pj.lo & the accidentals. Creează coregrafii pentru spectacole de teatru, în care joacă și dansează. 

Din 2022 colaborează cu Vlad Benescu și creează Luați de VAL…s, Tura de noapte, Somatic Freaks – Revoluția Proprioceptorilor și triluREELu. Primește Premiul de Excelență pentru contribuția sa la dezvoltarea dansului contemporan românesc, acordat de CNDB (2014), și Premiul Special al Juriului pentru expresivitate corporală, la Bucharest Fringe Festival (2024). Alexandra este pasionată de snowboarding și surfing, sporturi care o inspiră și în practica sa artistică.

Urvi Vora este dansatoare, artistă și scriitoare stabilită în Providence, Rhode Island, doctorandă și Presidential Fellow în Modern Culture and Media la Brown University. A studiat filosofie și antropologie, iar ulterior a început să creeze lucrări la intersecția dintre dans, film și teatru. Practica ei se concentrează asupra relației dintre corp și limbaj, mișcare și text, fiind profund influențată de cercetarea sa în psihanaliză teoretică. Lucrările ei au luat forme diverse și sinuoase: coregrafii, scurtmetraje, eseuri și videoclipuri muzicale, rămânând mereu ancorate în cercetări conceptuale și întrebări fundamentale despre cum ne mișcăm în lume.

Textele ei au apărut în publicații precum Contact Quarterly, Critical Collective, Indent: The Body and The Performative și Steaua. Lucrările sale coregrafice includ S.K.U.M. Manifesto (2019), The Naked Lunch Series (2019), we were famous for fifteen minutes (2020), This is how you move them (2021) și in the dark, with a six-inch blade (WIP, 2022). Lucrările sale colaborative includ Under the Influence (2020) și Attention: River Residents! (2021), împreună cu Alexandra Mihaela Dancs, iar cel mai recent, this wedding dance here (2026), împreună cu Giles Eldridge, toate create și prezentate la Tranzit House, în România.

Evenimentul face parte din stagiunea Dance in TRANZIT. Programul reunește șapte performance-uri, producții și co-producții dezvoltate în ultimii ani la Casa Tranzit, alături de lucrări ale unor artiști cu care spațiul deschide noi direcții de colaborare.  Stagiunea reunește artiste și artiști apropiați de Casa Tranzit, alături de grupuri artistice invitate din Belgia, SUA/India, Franța și Rojava.

You would not call a mermaid “fish out of water”, you would ask “mermaid, why are you out of water?”

Attention: River Residents is a duet created by Alexandra Mihaela Dancs and Urvi Vora in dialogue with the contours of the city with Tranzit House as a landscape. They move alongside the hour when the sun goes down, responding to the changing colours of the river to create moments that give rise to questions of loss, death and eventual transformation.

Come with headphones and a smartphone that has Zoom installed.

Alexandra Mihaela Dancs has been active in contemporary dance and performance art since 2004. She has performed in works by Vava Ștefănescu, Rui Catalao, Doris Uhlich, and Florin Fieroiu. She creates solo projects and co-creates performances with Carmen Coțofană, Andreea David, Mădălina Dan, Urvi Vora, and Cosmin Manolescu.

Alexandra has been leading classes and workshops since 2009 and created Totul pentru Endorfine in 2016. Since 2019, she has been singing and dancing with pj.lo & the accidentals. She creates choreography for theatre performances, in which she also acts and dances.

Since 2022, she has been collaborating with Vlad Benescu, creating Luați de VAL…s, Tura de noapte, Somatic Freaks – Revoluția Proprioceptorilor, and triluREELu. Alexandra received the Award of Excellence for her contribution to the development of Romanian contemporary dance, granted by CNDB in 2014, and the Jury’s Special Award for bodily expressiveness at the Bucharest Fringe Festival in 2024.Alexandra is passionate about snowboarding and surfing, sports that also inspire her artistic practice. 

Urvi Vora is a dancer, artist, and writer based in Providence, RI, and a PhD candidate and Presidential Fellow in Modern Culture and Media at Brown University. She studied philosophy and anthropology and following that, has been creating works in the overlaps between dance, film, and theatre. Her work focuses on the relationship between body and language, movement and text, deeply informed by her research in theoretical psychoanalysis. It has taken various, meandering forms--choreographies, short films, essays, and music videos--while always being rooted in conceptual inquiries and fundamental questions about how to move in the world.

Her writing has appeared in outlets such as Contact Quarterly, Critical Collective, Indent: The Body and The Performative, and Steaua. Her choreographic works include S.K.U.M. Manifesto (2019), The Naked Lunch Series (2019), we were famous for fifteen minutes (2020), This is how you move them (2021), and in the dark, with a six-inch blade (WIP, 2022). Her collaborative works include Under the Influence (2020) and Attention: River Residents! (2021) with Alexandra Mihaela Dancs, and most recently, this wedding dance here (2026) with Giles Eldridge, all of which were created and performed at Tranzit House in Romania.

The event is part of the Dance in TRANZIT contemporary dance season. The programme brings together seven performances, productions and co-productions developed in recent years at Casa Tranzit, alongside works by artists with whom the space is opening new directions of collaboration. The season brings together artists close to Casa Tranzit, alongside invited artistic groups from Belgium, the USA/India, France and Rojava.

A Figyelem: Vízilakók! Alexandra Mihaela Dancs és Urvi Vora duettje, amelyet a város kontúrjaival és a Tranzit Ház tájképével való dialógus alakított. Az előadók a naplemente óráit követik, válaszolnak a folyó változó színeire, olyan pillanatokat hoznak létre, amelyek a veszteség, halál és lehetséges átváltozás kérdéseit hívják elő.

Alexandra Mihaela Dancs 2004 óta vesz részt aktívan a kortárs tánc és a performanszművészet területén. Szerepelt Vava Ștefănescu, Rui Catalao, Doris Uhlich és Florin Fieroiu alkotásaiban. Szólóprojektekkel foglalkozik, valamint Carmen Coțofanăval, Andreea Daviddal, Mădălina Dannel, Urvi Vorával és Cosmin Manolescuval közösen hoz létre előadásokat.

Alexandra 2009 óta tart órákat és műhelyeket, 2016-ban pedig létrehozta a Mindent az endorfinokért című darabot. 2019 óta a pj.lo & the accidentals együttesben énekel és táncol. Színházi előadásokhoz készít koreográfiákat, amelyekben ő maga is táncol és szerepel.

2022 óta Vlad Benescuval együttműködve hozta létre a Luați de VAL…s, a Tura de noapte, a Somatic Freaks – Revoluția Proprioceptorilor és a triluREELu című darabokat. Alexandra 2014-ben a CNDB-től a román kortárs tánc fejlődéséhez való hozzájárulásáért Kiválósági Díjat kapott, 2024-ben pedig a Bukaresti Fringe Fesztiválon a testkifejezőképességért járó zsűri különdíját nyerte el. Alexandra szenvedélyesen szereti a snowboardozást és a szörfözést, ezek a sportok művészi gyakorlatát is inspirálják.

Urvi Vora táncos, művész és író, aki Providence-ben (Rhode Island) él, valamint a Brown Egyetem modern kultúra és média szakán ösztöndíjas doktorandusz. Filozófiát és antropológiát tanult, majd ezt követően a tánc, a film és a színház határterületén alkotott. Munkássága a test és a nyelv, a mozgás és a szöveg közötti kapcsolatra összpontosít, amelyet elméleti pszichoanalízis terén végzett kutatásai mélyen befolyásolnak. Munkái különböző, kanyargós formákat öltöttek – koreográfiák, rövidfilmek, esszék és zenei videók – ezeknek a kutatásoknak azonban mindig a koncepcionális gondolkodásban és a világban való mozgás módjával kapcsolatos alapvető kérdésekben volt a közös gyökerük.

Írásai olyan kiadványokban jelentek meg, mint a Contact Quarterly, a Critical Collective, az Indent: The Body and The Performative és a Steaua. Koreográfiai munkái között szerepel a S.K.U.M. Az esemény a Dance in TRANZIT kortárs táncsprogram része. A program hét előadást, produkciót és koprodukciót vonultat fel, amelyek az elmúlt években a Tranzit Házban készültek, valamint olyan művészek alkotásait is bemutatja, akikkel a helyszín új együttműködési irányokat nyit meg. A szezon a Tranzit Házhoz közel álló művészeket, valamint Belgiumból, az USA-ból/Indiából, Franciaországból és Rojavából meghívott művészeti csoportokat hoz össze.
