DISKO ANKSYETE FEST - FIRST EDITION - DARKWAVE / GOTH / POSTPUNK

Almost 5 years ago, Disko Anksyete started at Manasia as a small party created by Corina Sucarov around her musical project +SHE+. The idea was from her heart and simple: make a place for the bats and slowly build a community around music.
The first parties had 7, 13 people. Then a few more. And a few more after that.
Five years later the scene has grown alongside the party: new bands, new parties, new people, new sounds. It’s still a small scene, but it’s a real one and it keeps growing.
For the past two years, Corina has had the idea of turning Disko Anksyete into something bigger: a festival where the bands coming out of this community - old, new, big or small - can have a proper space to play, be heard and meet their audience.
So here we are DISKO ANKSYETE FEST - the first edition, at Control Club. Three live acts, followed by two DJ sets in the Front Room.

FAUNLET

Formed in Bucharest in 2011, Faunlet have spent the years refusing to stay in one box. Their sound moves between shoegaze, post-punk, doomy gothic and grunge, with every release opening up a slightly different landscape.Dark, intimate and deeply personal, Faunlet are now entering a new chapter with their new single “In Lust”, taken from their upcoming album.


+SHE+

+SHE+ is the personal artistic project of Corina Sucarov - a world built through music, theatre, visual language and the spirit of each era, where every album becomes its own entity, with its own sound, visual language, identity and story.For this festival, +SHE+ brings the live incarnation of “Cemetery of Broken Hearts”, a double EP about death and rebirth, falling apart and finding your way back. The first part is descent: depression, betrayal, loss, wandering and the slow disappearance of the self. The second is the return: breath, love, anger, strength and the courage to take yourself back. A record about vulnerability and power existing at the same time. About losing yourself, finding yourself again, and becoming the person you were before the world taught you otherwise.


MODERN SUN VELT

Emerging from Timișoara from musicians who once gave life to Arc Gotic, Modern Sun Velt takes the ghosts of that past somewhere darker and new. Post-punk and gothic rock shaped by reverberating guitars, heavy bass, forceful drums and vocals soaked in nostalgia. Their debut single, “On Another Sorrow”, opens this new chapter - a dark, cinematic reflection on alienation, violence, exhaustion and a world slowly
losing its sense of connection.
