ctrl Live: The Beauty of Gemina

The Beauty of Gemina, a Swiss electronic/alternative rock band founded by Michael Sele in 2006, is coming to ctrl on Friday, February 21. For almost 18 years, Michael Sele and The Beauty of Gemina have been celebrated not only in their home country and neighbouring countries, but also throughout Europe and especially in Central and South America, so that their tours have already taken them halfway around the globe. More than 300 concerts in 25 countries are already behind them.

The eagerly awaited new studio album "Songs Of Homecoming" was released on 13 September 2024 and offers an impressive collection of ten masterful tracks that take listeners on an emotional and sonically impressive journey. The new songs embody the poetic and musical talent of songwriter, singer and mastermind Michael Sele in an impressive way. He knows how to combine profound lyrics with captivating melodies like no other. Each song tells its own story and transports the listener into a world full of emotion, longing and introspective moments.

However, this album not only represents a homecoming in terms of content, but also a musical return to the band's beginnings. In contrast to the two previous albums, more electronic elements and beats are used again, along with driving keyboard patterns and Selle's unmistakable guitar work. But everything is more finely spun, more filigree, more contemporary in its arrangement and the interplay of minor and major harmonies, which is typical of Sele and cleverly utilised, runs like a thread through the album and develops a pull effect that has never been achieved before.

For the new live production, Michael Sele and his long-time musical companions Andi Zuber on bass and exceptional drummer Mac Vinzens will once again be joined by keyboardist Daniel Manhart to present the new songs live.
