Black Rhino meets Riddim Bandits Sound System in an all-nighter session, playing in style and fashion for Black Rhino Residency #24 at Contro Club.

After a full year where Black Rhino has invited Riddim Bandits Sound System to amplify its residencies, we are happy to start the new year with this meeting, where we play back-to-back one-hour sets in the company of our friends. We top it up by announcing Yardie Flo on the microphone as the host of the session.

Black Rhino Radio is a station of many music influences, and so are the people working here. For our January 10th Residency at Control Club, we are coming in a four-piece lineup with Low Freq, Voce, and matei dj as Black Rhino Radio’s core, along with Ursu Dub as a guest and long-time dub and sound system selector. 

With a bag full of records and digitals, ranging from lovers rock to steppers and from roots to dubwise, the crew comes to play in tune and time with our bredrens from Riddim Bandits, shaking together the very foundation of Babylon.

Riddim Bandits Sound System is a crew of selectors passionate about sound system culture, reggae, and bass music, operating under the motto "Good vibes promoters," seeking to convey to the public a set of values and vibes as positive as possible. 

Since 2015, Riddim Bandits has organised dub events in Bucharest, assembling a perfect mix of local and international acts. Beginning in 2019, inspired by the UK and JA music cultures, they have built their sound system in a DIY fashion. They continued their sound expansion and joined the Black Rhino Radio music community with the monthly" Road to Zion" show.

With over 20 years of experience behind the mic and on stage, Yardie Flo is a well-established voice within the reggae, dub, and drum & bass underground. A performer shaped by soundsystem culture, his shows are driven by raw energy, heavy basslines, and a deep respect for the roots of the music, while always pushing toward contemporary forms.

His sound is heavily influenced by reggae, dub, and world music, elements that naturally blend into both his vocal style and musical selections. This cross-genre approach has made Yardie Flo a versatile presence across scenes, equally at home in late-night DnB sessions, dub-focused gatherings, or full live band performances.
