Transilvania Pitch Stop at Transilvania IFF

Transilvania Pitch Stop aims to discover and support a special selection of feature film projects, provide training and a platform for presentation and networking for selected directors and producers.

This year, Transilvania Pitch Stop comes to Transilvania IFF to offer an incredible opportunity for film professionals from Romania and Moldova to be part of a customized script development workshop and training to support their projects in a public pitch event with the participation of potential international partners, as well as in individual one-on-one meetings.

Transilvania Pitch Stop is also hosting a competition, where film producers will present ten feature film projects in development. Their diversity is an important aspect that Transilvania Pitch Stop has taken into consideration in each of the 10 editions so far. This year, the collection of films stands out for the multicultural nature of the feature films and the diverse stories that are presented. The titles will be pitched to potential partners and funders on Wednesday, June 15, at the Transilvania International Film Festival in Cluj. Features in development are from first- and second-time filmmakers from Bulgaria, Greece, Georgia, Hungary, Moldova, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. These include Little Death, the directorial debut of Greek director Efthimis Kosemund-Sanidis, The Life We Never Had by Bulgarian director Martin Markov and The Circle by Moldovan director Vareriu Andriuta.

“The quality of the script, the story, the director, the brief and the director's motivation for the project were important criteria for the selection,” said Andra Gheorghiu, TPS coordinator.

Andra Gheorghiu says the novelties that TPS brings this year include the thematic diversity - we have dark comedy, dramas, crime films - as well as the variety of projects. This year, Andra Gheorghiu mentioned that, for the first time, pitch training sessions with Agathe Berman are being introduced, consisting of one-on-one sessions with producers to enrich and refine material and pitches.
