The most appreciated and controversial films from TIFF 2022 set the tone for the debates at TIFF Talks. The first guests who will speak to film-lovers present in Cluj-Napoca will be artist Corina Chiriac, researcher and activist Mădălina Mocan, along with Mona Muscă – former Minister of Culture. The event will take place Saturday, June 18, at 5PM and will be moderated by Mihnea Măruță.
Their discussion will start from Call Jane (dir. Phyllis Nagy), the film that opened the 21st edition of the festival on Friday night. A courageous story about women’s rights, inspired by the realities of the late ’60s in the USA, the film follows the journey of a woman forced to call a clandestine organization to perform a miscarriage at a time when abortions were still illegal.
