Pavel Bartoș directorial debut and other short films that must not be missed


With over 200 feature films in TIFF 2019 edition, choosing what to see might prove a challenge. But we advise you not to miss the short films that are already included in the special sections of this year festival. We have picked a few for you and we are sure that our selection will definitely catch your attention:

The Romanian Tradition stands for the directorial debut of the well-known actor Pavel Bartos, a comedy based on real facts, where the story follows a rural wedding. You'll get the chance to meet part of the distribution on Thursday, 6th of June, starting 21.45, in Unirii Square Open Air. Next to Pavel Bartos you'll find Alexandru Papadopol, Elvira Deatcu, Alexandru Ion, Vladimir Purdel, Ruxandra Maniu and Marius Damian. The film will be presented before the projection of Morometii 2 (director Stere Gulea). You can also enjoy the short film before the projection of Pup-o, mă on Saturday, 8th of June, in Julius Park Open Air.

The Marshal's Two Executions offers you 2 different perspectives upon the execution of Ion Antonescu, the military leader of the Romanian armies during the World War II. The short film directed by Radu Jude will open two of the projections for the feature film "I Do Not Care If We Go Down in History as Barbarians", on Saturday, 8th of June, at Victoria Cinema and on Sunday, 9th of June, at Sapientia Cinema.

Mick Davis is the director of the short film The Poison Child scheduled on Friday, 7th of June, opening the feature film of Radu Dragomir MO. The story of a little girl that disappears while her parents are getting prepared for a high end party, will give you the creeps.
