Migraţia minţilor luminate dinspre est spre vest nu este un fenomen care a început recent – ci unul care a existat în România de pe la sfârșitul secolului 19 și care acum s-a accentuat capătând o altă dinamică. Dacă pe vremuri clasa de mijloc își trimitea copiii la studii în Europa pentru a le desăvârși educația și a le oferi posibilitatea de a urca încă puțin în ierarhia socială - „brain training”, în comunism a existat (cât s-a putut) un „brain flight”, motivat de regimul represiv din România, iar acum s-a ajuns la „brain drain” -o mișcare masivă către Vest, motivată pe de o parte de lipsa recunoașterii profesionale, lipsa de perspective pe plan local şi pe de alta de un ideal aspiraţional legat de viaţa mai bună din occident.
BUN DE EXPORT este produsul unui proces colaborativ de lucru şi al unei ample documentări despre migraţie. Textul are o componentă autobiografică urmărind povestea a trei generaţii ale familiei Tocilescu şi o componentă documentară extrasă din poveştile colectate de-a lungul procesului.
Construit ca un exerciţiu de storytelling, spectacolul investighează felul ȋn care migraţia s-a insinuat ȋn vieţile tinerilor adulţi de azi şi dezbate cu mult umor dilemele apărute odată cu normalizarea acesteia.
BUN DE EXPORT este al doilea spectacol al Platformei de teatru şi dezbatere GO WEST.

EN The migration of the brains from East to West is not a recent phenomenon in Europe - it has been existed in Romania, for example, since the end of the 19th century - but nowadays it has become more aggressive and has another dynamics. If back in the day the middle class used to send their children to study in Western Europe so that they complete their education and have a better chance at social mobility once they got back - let's call it "brain training" - under the communist regime this was more of a „brain flight”, motivated by the repressive actions of the Government at home. We are now facing the "brain drain", a massive movement towards West, partially motivated by the lack of professional recognition, lack of perspective on the local level as well as the aspiration for a better life.
Good for Export is the product of a collaborative working process and a vast documentation into migration. The text has an autobiographical component, following the story of three generations of Tocilescu family and a documentary component extracted from other stories collected throughout the process.
Designed as a storytelling exercise, the production investigates the way in which migration has insinuated in the lives of young adults nowadays and debates with a lot of humor the dilemmas they are facing due to the normalization of migration.
Good for Export is the second production of GO WEST - Platform of theater and debate.
