On the anniversary of His Majesty King Michael I, in the presence of the members of the Royal Family of Romania, Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation invites you to a remarkable concert held by renowned artists, romanian muzicians with international appraisal. This particular edition brings together three of the artists that have performed in the last 10 years of Royal Charitable Concert: Remus Azoiței, Alexandra Dariescu and Teodor Ilincăi, accompanied by Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation Orchestra led by Tiberiu Soare.

The event will take place Wednesday, October 25th, 7 pm, at Romanian Athenaeum.

The funds raised through the Royal Charitable Concert will support the Young Talents Program, through which the Foundation offers individual scholarships to support the most talented young artists, from low-income Romanian families.

The entrance in the concert hall must take place between 6:00 pm and 6:45 pm. The concert will be televised. We thank you for your punctuality.

After the concert we will invite you in the Athenaeum lobby for an exhibition of artworks by young plastic artists, scholars of the Young Talents Program.

About the artists

Remus Azoiței

Named by the British magazine The Strand as an "an incurable virtuoso with a fabulous soul and technique", the violonist Remus Azoiţei debuted at the age of 8 with the symphonic orchestra of his hometown, Galați. Since 2001, Remus Azoiţei has been a violin professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London, at that time being the youngest violin professor in the history of the Academy. In 2007, he founded the Enescu Society in London, being one of the founding members as well as artistic director.

Alexandra Dariescu

From the Royal Albert Hall in London, to Concertgebouw in Amsterdam or Carnegie Hall in New York, the young pianist Alexandra Dariescu is named "one of 30 pianists under the age of 30 designed for a spectacular career" in the International Piano Magazine. Alexandra is celebrated by audiences and critics all over the world, having in her discography 3 CDs recorded solo and 2 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, respectively the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

Teodor Ilincăi

Graduate of the National Music University of Bucharest in 2006, tenor Teodor Ilincăi debuts the same year at the National Opera of Bucharest with the role of Ionica in “Puss in Boots” by Cornel Trăilescu. His international debut takes place in January 2009 on the stage of the Hamburg Opera, where he interpreted the role of MacDuff, in MacBeth by G. Verdi. Among the collaborations with important names of world lyrics are the concerts of Valladolid (2011), London and Bodrum (2013), alongside the prestigious soprano Angela Gheorghiu.

Tiberiu Soare

Conductor of the Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation Orchestra, the master is one of the most valuable and well-known conductors of the younger generation. He has been conducting music since 1999, working alongside national and international orchestras and participating in tours in Sweden, Israel, China, Germany, Switzerland, etc., besides his rich work on the stage of the Radio Hall and other concert halls and lyrical theaters in the country.

Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation Orchestra

The orchestra was founded in 2014 with the aim of giving young musicians the experience of approaching a varied musical repertoire on a professional level. The orchestra debuted the same year with the Foundation`s Royal Charitable Concert. Subsequently, the orchestra was assembled again in 2015 for two important concerts: October 25th - a second appearance for the Royal Charitable Concert and December 5th - in the accompaniment of violinist Armand Mourzagaliyev and under the conductor Gabriel Bebeşelea. Every year, young muzicians from all over the country, who study flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, brass instruments, percussion, violin, viola, cello or double bass are invited to take part in the auditions organized for the composition of the orchestra.


 

Young Talents

The program supports and promotes talented young artists from low-income Romanian families, who can not develop their talent due to material and financial shortages. The program consists of individual scholarships, intergenerational mentoring and promotion opportunities.


Princess Margareta of Romania Foundation

The Foundation was established in 1990 by HRH Princess Margareta of Romania, together with her father, HM King Michael I of Romania. Today it is an elite organization that supports children, youngsters and the elderly through sustainable interventions. Throughout its 27 years of activity, the Foundation has been involved in numerous projects in the field of education, community development, civil society, health and culture.
