Mark & Verse is a collection of 12 short animation films realised in variety of animation techniques. Each film is created by a different artistic tandem of a poet and an animation director. The collection combines poetry and animation in one, creating a new cinematic form - animated poetry.
It is a long term project, created by Vessela Dantcheva and produced by Compote Collective (Bulgaria). "My desire to realize a series of short poetic films was born with the creation of the artistic platform Compote Collective. From personal experience, with the direction of the film Anna Blume, I know how challenging and at the same time inspiring the connection of poetry with animation could be. I wanted to share this experience with my fellow colleagues and provoke them to find a poem and transform it into an author's animated film. That's how the idea for Mark & Verse was born 8 years ago." (Vessela Dantcheva)
This loving co-habitation of poetry and animation in Mark & Verse places the two art forms looking at each other in a mirror. Each mirror image being somewhat enlarged and amplifying the impact of the words and images in the talented interpretations of their authors.

Mark & Verse este o colecție de 12 scurtmetraje de animație realizate în diverse tehnici. Fiecare film este creat de un tandem artistic diferit format dintr-un poet și un regizor de animație. Colecția combină într-un întreg poezia și animația, creând o nouă formă cinematografică, poezia animată.
Este un proiect pe termen lung, creat de Vessela Dantcheva și produs de Compote Collective (Bulgaria). "Dorința mea de a realiza o serie de scurtmetraje poetice s-a născut odată cu înființarea platformei Compote Collective. Din experiența personală, datorită regizării filmului Anna Blume, știu cât de provocatoare și, totodată, plină de inspirație poate fi legătura poeziei cu animația. Am vrut să împărtășesc această experiență cu colegii mei și să-i provoc să găsească o poezie și să o transforme într-un film de animație. Așa s-a născut acum opt ani ideea de a face Mark & Verse." Această coabitare plină de iubire între poezie și animație din Mark & Verse pune cele două forme de artă să se privească una pe alta în oglindă. Fiecare imagine în oglindă este oarecum mărită și amplifică impactul cuvintelor și imaginilor din interpretările pline de talent ale autorilor.
